Harsco Rail Wins NRC Safety Award
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (January 31, 2019)-- Harsco Rail recently attended the annual NRC/ REMSA Conference and Exposition in Marco Island, FL. During the conference The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) recognizes members with strong workplace safety programs. Awards are given to the companies that exemplify a commitment to safety and that recognize the importance of providing a safe work environment.
Each company is scored on the following six areas:
Workers’ Compensation Experience Rating; OSHA Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses; OSHA Statistics Violations; Roadway Worker Protection Training; Safety Program Element; and Company Vehicle Accident Score. Companies are awarded one of four awards based on their overall score. Bronze, 60% - 69% score, Silver, 70% - 79% score, Gold, 80% - 99% and Platinum, 100% score.
Harsco Rail received a perfect score of 100%, making it the Platinum winner for the Contractor of the Year Safety Award. Bau Phillips, Director of Contracted Services, received the award on behalf of Harsco Rail. Congratulations to Bau and the team for all of their hard work and commitment to safety!
