WEST COLUMBIA, SC, (April 3, 2017) — Harsco’s Protran Technology unit, part of the Company’s Harsco Rail division, announced today participation in the NorthEast Passenger Transportation Association’s (NEPTA) Biennial Conference and Transportation Expo, Tuesday, April 4 in Providence, RI. Taking part in the event is the company’s account executive, Shannon Bailey, who will present Protran’s Safe Turn Alert System from 2:15 PM to 3:30 PM at the Rhode Island Convention Center.

NEPTA is an association of transit providers, vendor and industry specialists dedicated to promoting transit issues at the local, state, regional, and national levels. NEPTA anticipates over 300 industry leaders to attend the conference and expo. These attendees will represent various sectors of public and private transportation throughout New England, state and federal agencies, the business community and vendors who serve the transit industry.

Protran will be exhibiting from booth #311 Safe Turn Alert, which is an audible warning system that alerts curbside pedestrians when a bus is making a right- or left-hand turn. The system also has the option for flashing LED strobe lights that act as an additional visual warning. Protran will showcase the benefits and impact of the STA system and other innovative technologies.
